According to the May 2018 Visa Bulletin, it will now take almost 4 years for EB-5 visas to be available for investors from China and Vietnam. The current priority date for visa availability for EB-5 investors from Vietnam is July 22, 2014.

The “Priority Date” refers to the date that an approved immigrant petition was filed and represents an applicant’s “place in line” to receive an available visa. An applicant reaches the front of the line once his/her priority date becomes “current.” When an immigrant petition is current, you can apply for a green card. The U.S. Department of State publishes a monthly visa bulletin that lists the priority dates which have become current or earlier than the date listed in the current month’s bulletin. In other words, these are the dates that now have immigrant visas available to be claimed.

Because demand for visa numbers by applicants can fluctuate from one month to another, cut-off dates on the Department of State (DOS) Visa Bulletin are adjusted monthly. Current priority dates are posted on the DOS website at http://travel.state.gov.

On the chart below, the listing of a date for any class indicates that the class is oversubscribed. “C” means current, i.e., numbers are authorized for issuance to all qualified applicants. Numbers are authorized for issuance only for applicants whose priority date is earlier than the dates listed below.
